System requirements & supported adapters
Windows 10/11 Pro (Home edition causes activation failures), 8GB RAM minimum (16GB recommended), 20GB free disk, and an RP1210C-compliant adapter: genuine INLINE 8, Nexiq USB-Link 3, or DPA 5. Internet access is required for activation and calibration downloads.
Installation: DIY vs pre-configured
DIY installs routinely hit three walls: license-server registration, driver signing on newer Windows builds, and RP1210 adapter registry entries. Our remote-install service handles all three in about 40 minutes on a screen-share — or buy the pre-configured Toughbook kit and skip it entirely.
Renewal cost and what happens if it lapses
INSITE expires hard at 12 months — the software stops connecting to engines. Renewal is $1,295 (Lite) or $1,795 (Pro), and renewing before expiry keeps your activation seamless. We call every customer 30 days out. Full cost math on the INSITE price page.

Can INSITE Lite do a forced regen?
Yes — forced DPF regens, aftertreatment resets and parameter changes are all Lite-tier functions. Programming, calibrations and injector trim require Pro.
Does INSITE work on non-Cummins engines?
What laptops does INSITE run on?
Any Windows 10/11 Pro laptop with 8GB+ RAM, but Cummins is strict about Windows builds and security software. Our kits use Toughbooks configured and tested against the current INSITE release.
Is there a monthly subscription option?
Cummins sells INSITE as an annual license only. We offer financing on kits which effectively spreads software-plus-hardware into weekly payments.
