JPRO Professional (Noregon)

The US-market multi-brand standard — fastest fault-to-fix workflow for North American fleets, with reporting features Jaltest doesn't match.

Get JPRO pricingCompare all platforms

JPRO is what happens when a company builds diagnostic software around one market instead of the whole world: deeper North-American coverage, cleaner fault guidance, and fleet-management reporting that turns diagnostics into maintenance decisions.

JPRO coverage at a glance

JPRO covers all North American Class 3–8 makes plus trailers and buses, with next-gen fault guidance that links codes across ECUs to root causes. European and Asian coverage exists but is thinner than Jaltest or TEXA.

What JPRO does best — and where it falls short

JPRO's advantage is workflow: connect once, whole-vehicle scan in about 60 seconds, every ECU's faults on one screen with probable-cause ranking. Fleet reporting (health scores, trend data) is genuinely useful for maintenance managers.

  • Strengths: Fastest whole-vehicle scan in the industry — every ECU in about a minute.
  • Strengths: Fault guidance links related codes across ECUs to probable root cause.
  • Strengths: Fleet health reporting and trend data included.
  • Strengths: US-made support: Noregon's tech line is excellent.
  • Watch out for: No off-highway or agriculture module — Jaltest wins for mixed operations.
  • Watch out for: Weaker on European trucks and the newest non-US platforms.
  • Watch out for: Bi-directional depth slightly behind Jaltest on some brands.

Frequently Asked Questions

JPRO vs Jaltest for an independent shop?

US-only truck shop: JPRO's workflow and price win. Mixed trucks + equipment, or heavy European iron: Jaltest. The full matrix is on the comparison page.

Does JPRO require an internet connection?

For updates and some cloud features, yes; core diagnostics run offline. This trips up mobile techs in dead zones less than it used to, but Jaltest's fully-offline model is still friendlier in the field.

Can JPRO do forced regens and bi-directionals?

Yes — forced DPF regens, injector cut-out, EGR and fan tests, and parameter changes across all major US brands. ECM flashing remains OEM-tool territory.
